What is Gentle Sleep Coaching?

Sleep is a learned skill. Gentle Sleep Coaching is a non-invasive evidence-based methodology that supports an easeful, supportive and nourishing environment for the child as they learn the critical healthy skills of soothing themselves to sleep and sleeping through the night. This non-CIO (Cry It Out) coaching method does not involve leaving the baby alone to cry. Gentle sleep coaching enables and empowers parents to teach their babies how to put themselves to sleep independently, which leads to sufficient napping and eventually sleeping through the night at an age appropriate time. The gentle method considers infant mental and physical development, temperament, feeding needs, parent goals, parenting style, and the level of sleep deprivation prior to designing a plan for sleep improvement. Get Quiet Nights uses only gentle methods.

What will I get from my consultation?

This is an opportunity to engage with a live professional coach and develop a customized plan for your child. Tracy will design a personalized plan specific to your child’s needs and your circumstances. You will be counseled every step of the way to ensure you feel confident and secure in your approach and that your child feels nourished and supported through the sleep coaching process. Whether your child can’t get to sleep or stay asleep, Tracy has the education and tools to help you sift through the copious sleep advice and use evidence-based techniques to help your family get better sleep.

How soon should I see improvement in my child’s sleep after starting a gentle coaching plan?

Many successful stories report better sleep and quieter nights within 1-7 days, given the circumstances. You should see progress within 5 days and many parents complete the plan around 2 weeks.

How can I find out about others who have done this method before?

Please visit our Success Stories page to read messages from happy, sleeping parents!

Do I have to stop nursing my child through the night?

Absolutely not. Mothers can still experience the gift of nursing their babies to sleep and coaching them to sleep through the night, with night feeds included as part of the plan. Get Quiet Nights is pro-nursing and pro attachment-theory parenting. Our sleep training and sleep coaching methods are modified to meet your specific needs and goals.
